WESTLAW NEXT Tip of the Week: Adding Favorites to Your Home Page

Save time by using Favorites.
Do you find that you return to the same databases or content pages on a regular basis? If so, you can save lots of time by using Favorites. This feature allows you to add frequently used content to your home page. You may also organize your favorite pages into groups so you can locate them easily or search them directly from the home page.
Adding to Favorites
Once you are viewing a content page, you can add that page to your Favorites by clicking the Favorites icon.
Next, you will designate one or more groups where your page will be saved. If you wish to save this page to a completely new group, you may do so by clicking Create new group. Once you’ve made your selections click Save.
That content page now appears in the Favorites widget on your home page. You may click the link to navigate directly to that page.
What Pages Can I Save to Favorites?
Most content pages on WestlawNext – no matter how broad or narrow – can be saved as a favorite. Examples of favorites include the following:
- Cases
- Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Cases
- Rules of Evidence for United States Courts and Magistrates
- United States Code Annotated (USCA®) – Title 11. Bankruptcy
- Witkin Summary of California Law – Chapter 1. Contracts, III. Conflict of Laws
- Texas Federal District Court Dockets – Southern District
Saving Tables of Contents to Favorites
Easily access commonly used resources by saving all or part of a table of contents to Favorites. For example, suppose you know you will regularly consult Title 42, Chapter 21 of the U.S.C.A. (Civil Rights). Display the contents of Chapter 21 by clicking Statutes and Court Rules on the All Content tab, clicking United States Code Annotated (USCA), and then clicking titles and headings as needed. Then click the Favorites icon near the top of the page.
A link to Chapter 21 will display in the Favorites widget on your home page. Now you’ll have access to Chapter 21 in one click and can search it individually or in combination with other favorites.
